Mission 01 - Assault on Ghirlandaio


Selvaria's gun packs an awesome firepower, and can bust through pretty much anything. Furthermore, Selvaria is a Scout which of course gives her great movement range. On the flip side, she completely lacks the ability to heal herself, and requires the constant presence of Johann, the Engineer, to patch her up. And don't forget to deploy both Elvin (Lancer) and Karl (Scout) to get some additional command points (CP).

That said, send Selvaria to get rid of the lone Lancer to the east. Doing so will shave off 1 CP from your opponent. The Shocktrooper to the west also carries CP; take him out too. The tank is worth 2 CP; destroy it with your own tank and a Lancer if you like. Though you can try to capture the Gallian camps to the west, it will be so much safer to just have the rest of your troops defend your base camp. Your Sniper will be doing most of the killing here since he can take out far away targets with just a single shot. But of course you should let the others help out too.

Continue moving Selvaria and Johann east, and have the former ignore the Sniper behind the sandbags; head down the stairs instead to take out the Shocktrooper. Johann can get rid of the Sniper by tossing a grenade.

For turn 2, Selvaria should proceed southward along the right side, navigating past the barricades until you run into a tank. Move behind it and fire at the radiator to blow it up. Then run around the corner to the other side. Now, send Johann after his commanding officer with the intention of healing her. In turn 4, send Johann down first and throw a grenade at the barricade to destroy it, then have Selvaria run up to the tank and move behind it. Blow up the radiator and capture the camp.

Mission 01 Alternate Strategy


As usual, start off by sending both Selvaria and Johann east, killing both the Lancer and the Sniper. Then move your tank left and down along the path next to the massive pillar. Fire a KrM10 round at the sandbags there. That should knock the lone Shocktrooper away from his comfort zone.

Use your last 3 CPs to have your Sniper take out the enemy Sniper standing atop the tower to the far southwest (near a Gallian camp), the Shocktrooper that was blown away by your tank earlier, and the other Shocktrooper standing just west of your base camp. End phase.

For turn 2, move your tank forward until you spot the Gatling Turret; blow it up. Next, have some of your troops clear away the enemies that have gathered at the west side of your base. After that, use your remaining CPs to have your Lancer follow your tank. For turn 3, keep moving your Lancer until you reach the back of Damon's tank. Fire one rocket at the radiator to blow it up. With Damon's tank gone, you can focus on moving Selvaria and Johann onward to capture the Gallian base camp.

Destroying Damon's tank lets you play Mission 2B instead of 2A.

Mission 02A

Selvaria starts out alone in the middle of the map, while the rest of your troops are stationed to the far north. Begin by moving your tank towards the upper west Gallian camp, and blow up the Gatling Turret. Have a Sniper fire at the Shocktrooper atop a wall at around that same camp as well; the guy carries 1 CP. Head shot the other Shocktrooper at the camp too. After that, send Johann down the ladder and head for the camp.

There should be a lone Lancer near there, kill him to take away another CP from the enemy. Take control of the same unit, move a bit north and toss a grenade at the barricade down the cliff. Occupy the camp.

For turn 2, the enemy should have started moving towards Selvaria's location. Have your Sniper head shot all the Shocktroopers to the southwest that you can hit, to clear a path for Johann. Once the area has been cleared, send Johann all the way to where Selvaria is to initiate an event. Selvaria is back in action. Also, if you're interested, there is an enemy ace waiting at the Gallian camp to the east.

With Selvaria, start heading all the way down towards central enemy camp to the south -- your destination. There will be Heavy Gatlings installed along the way, which the General can bust up real quick. But do try to find a safer path around these things if possible. For turn 3, once Selvaria is near the destination, smash the Heavy Gatling then just dash for the goal.

Mission 02B

This one will be more difficult than mission 2a, mainly because you need to accomplish the mission in roughly 3 turns, before the citadel gets smashed by mortar fire. Deploy at least 2 or better yet 3 Lancers, along with 2 Snipers. Fill the last slot with a character of your choice, preferably someone that adds to your total CP. And just like 2a, Selvaria will be stuck at the middle of the map, so you'll have to get to her first.

Clear out the enemy's central defense line first. There will be 2 Heavy Gatling, 1 tank, 1 Shocktrooper, and an ace Scout (Musaad the Mole). Move your tank forward and smash the sandbags. Once you've removed enemy troops from their crouching position, have a Sniper pick off Musaad the Mole. Remember that every CP counts so save often. Reload your save if you miss. Your Lancers should kill the Heavy Gatlings, then snipe the remaining Shocktrooper. Have Josinore (Lancer) deal with the tank.

If you have any more CP left, have your Lancers smash the other 2 Heavy Gatlings positioned further back. You should also try to capture the Gallian camp to the west as soon as possible. So have a Lancer smash the Gatling Turret there sometime during turn 1. This concludes turn 1.

For turn 2, take out the Sniper atop the tower of the west camp. Kill any reinforcements that may have gathered out front. Once cleared, send Johann to capture the vacated camp. If the Lancer is still there, toss a grenade at him to send him farther away from the camp, so that you can occupy it. Now, have Johann move east towards the trench to Selvaria.

With Selvaria back in action, leave the trench and move south along the middle path, with Johann using grenades to smash the barricade. For turn 3, head for your destination. There are 2 Heavy Gatlings positioned at the southmost base. Damon's tank will be here too. Destroy the Heavy Gatlings, make a quick dash past Damon's tank,and to the goal.

After completing the "Behind Her Blue Flame" EX Report, Selvaria's gun, Ruhm will become available for use in the main campaign. You can access it via the barracks. Only Shocktroopers can use the Ruhm.

To unlock Mission 03 which is actually the 4th map, you must first achieve an A rank in the first 3 maps.

Mission 03

You get to control Selvaria in her Valkyria form here, which makes her all the more awesome. The tide of this battle will be totally in your favor, as Selvaria can pretty much kill anyone and destroy anything with just one shot, plus you get lots of CP. There really isn't much strategy here. Just send Selvaria up north and smash every enemy unit that you come across. You may want to capture the enemy camps too. This should keep them from calling for reinforcements. The rest of your men should kill any target that they can too, once Selvaria's movement meter dries up.
